Rodrigo Flores-Roux is a Mexican-born perfumer and senior creative figure at Givaudan. Born and raised in Mexico City, he studied biology before moving to France in 1989 to attend ISIPCA in Versailles, where his training included an internship under Jean-Claude Ellena. He began his professional career in functional fragrance before moving into fine fragrance, with Clinique Happy among his early major international successes. Flores-Roux is especially associated with vivid citrus, floral, resinous and textural compositions, drawing inspiration from Mexican culture, art, flowers and raw materials. His extensive fine-fragrance work includes creations for Tom Ford, John Varvatos, Arquiste, Elizabeth Arden and many other houses, and he has also contributed his expertise to Givaudan projects exploring natural materials and olfactory heritage.
