Heat makes fragrance louder. Sweetness, spice, and anything already dense get bigger in warm air. Layering in that weather works when a fresh accent lightens a heavier favorite, and when the total number of sprays stays small.
Let the fresh scent do less
- Use a citrus, aquatic, or green fragrance as the accent. Keep the heavier bottle as the lead if that is the one you want to wear.
- One spray of the fresh accent is the place to start. Heat will do some of the projecting for you.
- A heavy mist under a heavy perfume doubles the problem. Use a light mist, or skip the mist.
In warm air, the accent should lighten the lead, not compete with it.
What tends to work
- An unscented moisturizer underneath can keep the skin comfortable without adding another smell for the heat to amplify.

- Black Orchid pairs that floral oriental with Bleu de Chanel.
